CTEP Student Wins PVUSD Climate Change Presentation Competition

Students holding awardsCTEP Video Production student, Marcus Solbes-Moran earned 1st place in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District (PVUSD) Climate Change Presentation Competition for his video submission. Marcus is a student of Jenny Angelacos, CTEP Video Production instructor at Aptos High School. The competition encouraged short, creative presentations conveying the seriousness of climate change while leaving viewers hopeful about solving the crisis.

This is an excellent example of Career Technical Education (CTE) and Core Academic Subject Integration with Environmental Science. Marcus conducted research and gathered statistics associated with climate change. He wrote an essay that he used as the voice-over narration in his video. He completed the project by editing together creative commons video footage. The competition received 51 entries and Marcus received the grand prize of $500. Congratulations Marcus!
